Special packages

In addition to our tours and bespoke workshops, we offer 2 special packages that bring together our signature 2-hour Migrantour Utrecht guided walking tour with special cooking and crafting workshops that directly benefit our community and our mission. Check out the options below, offered in partnership with Positive Impact Tourism!

Option 1: 'Connect Through Culture & Food'
Gather in the morning at the Molen de Ster mill in Utrecht, where you'll meet with a representative from Migrantour Utrecht. The mill is located in the Lombok area of Utrecht, a vibrant part of the city that many people with migration backgrounds have come to call home. Your Migrantour Utrecht intercultural companion will lead you on a walk through the neighborhood, sharing personal stories and local insights that offer a fresh and nuanced perspective on migration, migrant heritage, and diversity. In true Migrantour fashion, the focus will be on storytelling and fostering meaningful connections between people. This tour will provide you with tools to rethink your views on individuals with perspectives and experiences different from your own. By sparking empathy and curiosity, it will inspire you to engage in intercultural dialogue and contribute to advancing global citizenship values wherever you go.
Along the way, we will stop at various shops to pick up some ingredients for our cooking workshop. The walking tour ends at Migrantour Utrecht’s host organisation De Voorkamer, the location where you will be learning to cook with flavours potentially unknown to you. In collaboration with community members from Migrantour Utrecht, you will prepare and serve a communal meal at De Voorkamer. These gatherings for and together with the community, featuring traditional cuisines from around the world, provide invaluable opportunities for fostering connections. They create a safe and inclusive environment for individuals to socialize and celebrate together. Your group will be responsible for procuring ingredients, meal preparation, space setup, and post-event cleanup. Experienced chefs and community members will provide guidance and support throughout the process.

After lunch, we will join in a crafts workshop hosted by Migrantour Utrecht volunteers. Our crafting workshop imparts the skills required to produce lino print-based products, such as booklets, postcards, and bookmarks related to our cause, which are subsequently distributed within our community to promote our work and mission. We enthusiastically encourage participants’ input and creativity. The workshop and resulting mementos aim to foster community engagement through artistic expression. Participants will benefit from the guidance of experienced community members and have the opportunity to engage in meaningful dialogue. The insights gleaned from these interactions can influence the crafting process, thereby enriching the final products and inspiring further creative thought.
